On North Zealand you will also find Denmark's largest lakes and beautiful forest areas as well as some of the most beautiful royal castles. Fredensborg Castle in the heart of North Zealand is inhabited by the royal family in both spring and autumn and is therefore open to visitors in July, while the castle park is open all year round. But Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød as well as Hamlet's Kronborg Castle in Elsinore are definitely worth a visit. You may also want to visit the Technical Museum located south of Helsingør with the Museum of Flight and Transport.
