3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with air-conditioning in the living room, for up to 6 guests with magnificent sea views and access to a shared pool, just a short distance from the picturesque town of Salobreña, although we HIGHLY recommend hiring a car for easy access to shops and nearby beaches.
On the top floor: living room w/ magnificent sea views, kitchen and service bathroom.
Two bedrooms on the floor below, with a full bathroom with shower. The ground floor has bedroom w/ ensuite bathroom. Incorporated garage with free parking for 1 car.
The house is situated in a small, south facing development with magnificent sea views, just a short distance from the picturesque town of Salobreña, on the Costa Tropical of the Granada Province in Spain.
The main door opens out on to the top level of the house where the small hall leads to the sitting/dining room, the independent kitchen and a service toilet with washbasin and WC.
The large French windows occupy the full width of this living space, creating an immediate impact with the stunning views of the sea, the coast, and across the bay to Salobreña itself with the Moorish castle on the hill. The windows also give access to the terrace, where it is possible to sit outside to enjoy these wonderful views.
The living room is a very a pleasant place for relaxing, with two sofas, comfy chairs and a coffee table, a dining table and 6 chairs. There is a ceiling fan and an air-conditioning unit that both cools and warms (for winter). There is a TV with international channels and wi-fi Internet.
The kitchen includes an oven, electric hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee percolator, kettle, and all the crockery, cutlery and utensils needed for cooking and self-catering.
There are two bedrooms downstairs, both with two single beds, although they can be pushed together and made up as a double if necessary. The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and ensuite bathroom.
I am originally English, but moved to Spain in 1988 and lived there for 22 years before moving to Lisbon in 2010, where I now live and work. I speak English, Spanish and Portuguese, and we are lucky to have the help of a lovely bilingual (English & Spanish) lady to manage the check-ins and check-outs and to provide on-site support to guests.
Salobreña is a charming town located on the southern coast of Spain. This picturesque town is perched on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, offering breathtaking views of the coastline and the surrounding mountains.
Urbanización Costa Aguilera Mar is just 5 minutes away from the town, and is a small community perched on a hill above the rocky coast. Sandy beaches are just a short drive away, and this area offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and water sports, such as windsurfing and paddleboarding.
The Sierra Nevada National Park is just a short drive away, where you can explore some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Spain.
Our property has free onsite parking. You can walk to the nearby village of Caleta in 10 minutes, or in the other direction to the Hotel Salobreña in just 5 minutes for a cool gin and tonic at dusk.
Large supermarkets are nearby in the town of Salobreña, or a little further afield in Motril - for this you'll need a car.
BEACHES & RESTAURANTS:
For starters, I would highly recommend taking the car and driving down (10 minutes) to Salobreña and the Paseo Marítimo, or seafront promenade.
Either side of the "Peñón" (a rocky outcrop that juts out into the sea), there is a good beach, with the Playa de la Guardia, to the west of the Peñón being a little less developed.
The long beach to the east of the Peñón is bordered by the promenade, and populated by several, very good "chiringuito" restaurants, such as La Charca, Chiringuito Flores, Casa Emilio and others.
Restaurante El Peñón is built into the rock itself, and provides excellent views across the bay and to the beaches. Directly opposite, La Bahía is to be recommended for fresh fish, marisco and "tropical" salads.
It's also well worth driving a little further, just 20 minutes in the direction of Málaga, to explore the Playa de Cabria, and the Playa del Capitán. These two beaches are sandier and less popular, especially on weekdays.
