We are Denmark meets Holland away in Spain – a shared dream that came true when we created a new life in Andalusia. Together with our golden retriever Bennie, we enjoy life with the sun, the warmth and the mountain view, while we lovingly restore and renew our finca. Our common language is English, but in everyday life it quickly becomes a colorful mixture of Danish, Dutch and Spanish. Charles has a knack for languages and can also get by in German, French and Italian.
Since 2022, we have carefully restored the old buildings in a modern Andalusian style with respect for history. At the same time, we have created terraced gardens with cacti and Mediterranean plants, which give a beautiful, green look all year round. By the pool area, we have built a bar with an outdoor kitchen, where our guests can enjoy a refreshment along with the view.
On our three-hectare land you will encounter 100-year-old olive, orange and lemon trees, which testify to the long traditions of the place. The Arroyo Quinte stream runs through the fields, attracting a rich variety of animal and bird life, which always contributes to fascinating experiences.
Just 5 km from Finca Valle Verde you will find the famous Caminito del Rey – The King’s Little Path. The almost 8 km long hiking route ends in El Chorro and offers an unforgettable experience. Here you walk on footbridges more than 100 meters up vertical rock walls, while the views of gorges, valleys and dramatic mountain formations make the trip spectacular from start to finish.
Nearby you can swim in the most beautiful mountain lakes at Isla Ardales, rent canoes or paddle boards.
Antequera, the heart of Andalusia, is an hour’s drive from our finca. Here you can discover three dolmens, Los Dolmenes de Antequera, which are over 5,000 years old. These impressive burial chambers, along with the rock formations La Peña de los Enamorados and El Torcal, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016.
Ronda is one of Spain’s most iconic cities. The city’s landmark is the impressive Puente Nuevo bridge, completed in 1793 after 42 years of construction, which connects the old Moorish quarter with the newer El Mercadillo district. From the bridge, you have breathtaking views of the deep gorge El Tajo. Ronda also offers Turkish baths, beautiful historical buildings and the famous bullring Plaza de Toros from 1785 – a place believed to be the birthplace of modern bullfighting.
Another highlight is the white village of Setenil de las Bodegas, known for its unique location. The town is built directly into the cliff face along the Trejo River – a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages. Here you can enjoy tapas and refreshments in houses, cafés and restaurants, literally carved into the rock.
Just an hour’s drive away is Málaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol. Here you can shop in the famous Calle Larios, visit the botanical gardens, explore the old Alcazaba palace or take a trip up to the Castillo de Gibralfaro fortress with panoramic views of the city and the sea.
And for those who want a day with sand between their toes, the inviting beaches of the Mediterrane
