Just when we thought that the panoramic vistas enjoyed by our houses in El Gastor could not be bettered, one of our most long-standing owners discovered a plot of land with unrivalled views that took our breath away! He then proceeded to build a smart, contemporary home with an abundance of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to showcase the picture-postcard scenery from the moment it emerges in the soft morning light to the enchanting hours of sunset when the rolling hills are silhouetted against a sky of multi-coloured hues. With two sets of patio doors lining its façade, the open-plan living room invites guests to sit and enjoy breakfast whilst soaking up the morning scenery. After a day of sightseeing and swims in the pool, the comfortable soft seating area is equally well placed for admiring the view, whilst in the principal double bedroom guests can enjoy direct access to the terrace via another set of patio doors. Throughout, the look is fresh and contemporary. Softly painted wall panels add an air of elegance to the restful bedrooms and a neutral colour palette creates a light and inviting ambience.

Its situation, just off one of the country lanes that weave their way throughout the scenic countryside beyond El Gastor, is particularly appealing. The pretty ‘pueblo blanco’, with its charming streets of whitewashed houses and flower-filled balconies, is home to a delightful collection of local shops, a lively central square and some good restaurants. It is pleasingly close to hand, being only 2.4km from the house, whilst the equally picturesque centres of Ronda, Zahara de la Sierra and Grazalema are all within a 30 minute drive.
