The wilderness-style rental cabin of Kilpisjärven Ladut ry is located on the shore of Lake Tsahkal, and it offers a peaceful overnight stay with beautiful scenery. - The rental cabin has beds for four people. Please bring your own linen and/or sleeping bags. - There's no electricity in the cabin. Heating with a fireplace, the use of wood from the wood storage is included in the price. Bring your own fire-making tools, for example matches or a lighter. Please note that it will take some time for the hut to warm up. Only cooled ashes from the stove should be emptied into the bucket. Do not put hot coals in the ash bucket. - Cooking is done on a gas stove. Read the instructions and remember to turn off the gas after the use. If you have your own portable gas stove, please use it outdoors only. - Water can be taken from the nearby Tsahkal River. It is recommended to boil the water before drinking. Wastewater should be poured into the urinal of the dry toilet. - There is a dry toilet in the area, please bring your own toilet paper. - Please clean up after yourself and take care of your waste. The nearest public waste points are located in the village of Kilpisjärvi. Lake Tsahkal Wilderness Hut is located about one kilometer's walk from the village of Kilpisjärvi. The wilderness hut at Tsahkaljärvi is reached via marked hiking trail. The trail starts from the Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre and is marked with knee-high wooden poles topped with orange paint. At the beginning of the trail, there is a sign pointing the way to Tsahkaljärvi. Please note that the cabin is not accessible by car. You can leave your car in the parking area of the Kilpisjärvi Visitor Centre, Käsivarrentie 14145, 99490 Kilpisjärvi.
