Aulos is within walking distance of Les Cabannes which has direct train access to Paris and Toulouse. Les Cabannes is the last village on the route to the cross skiing area of the Plateau de Beille. The river Ariege, which gives its name to the department, runs within 100 metres of the house. This area is quiet and the people are friendly. The local bars are true centres of village life.
