The OVO Network team’s opinion - It's hard to resist the bright open spaces of Chalet Caprice, which is arranged over four floors. It sleeps up to eight guests (six adults max) in three bedrooms and has four bathrooms. The garage leads to a practical ski room with a heated boot dryer, then to a games room with a sofa, table football, board games, TV and sauna. A shower and toilet are nearby, as is a practical laundry room. The chalet's three bedrooms are all on the ground floor and open onto the hot tub balcony – the perfect place to end the day under the stars. There are two double rooms, each with a desk and a TV, and a bunk room for four. The bedrooms share two shower rooms and separate WCs. The two upper floors are flooded with light, thanks to the full-height windows and doors that frame the stunning views. The modern kitchen opens onto a vast dining room with a fireplace, a wine cabinet and mobile breakfast bar. There's even a telescope on the balcony to get a closer look at the views. The living room on the top floor has plenty of sofas and cosy chairs as well as a video projector and roll-up screen so that you can enjoy cosy movie nights together. There is also a shower room with a WC on this floor. Although Chalet Caprice does not have a garden, there are balconies and terraces on each floor where you can make the most of the scenery and the Alpine air. Chalet Caprice is just five minutes from Combloux, making it perfectly located for exploring the Mont-Blanc massif, with or without your own car. The village is part of the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which also includes Megève, Saint-Gervais and Les Contamines. The Espace Diamant (Praz-sur-Arly, Bellecombe, Crest-Voland, Flumet and Les Saisies) is just a 30-minute drive away. This region, which hosted the Winter Olympics in 1992, boasts an excellent infrastructure. Experienced skiers looking for a night skiing experience will love the Vallée Blanche. This 23km run, with a 2,000m vertical drop, links the Aiguille du Midi to the Mer de Glace. A guide is essential for this extraordinary experience, best enjoyed under the glow of a full moon. Other winter activities available within a short drive of the chalet include dog sledding and snowshoe trekking. Adrenalin-seekers can enjoy ice climbing, via ferrata and paragliding. In summer, the region becomes a favourite with hikers and cyclists. Explore the Argentière glacier or the Baroque Trail, a 20km path between Combloux and Les Contamines-Montjoie, which passes some of the region's most beautiful Baroque buildings. If you're lucky, you might even spot some marmots! The artificial lake at Combloux is an ecological paradise fed by mountain streams and surrounded by wild flowers. Take a picnic and relax in the shadow of Mont Blanc, while the children enjoy the play area, or dine in the on-site restaurant.
