The property is not suitable for children under 13. Three ensuite bedrooms, two of which can be configured with twin beds. The independent garden level bedroom has a private entrance. Tastefully decorated and furnished in a contemporary style complimenting the original stone barn. The balcony terrace gives a unique view of the gardens and stone chicken coop, now a separate utility room. Attached is a covered summer kitchen and dining area. Discover the Dordogne from the tranquility of Domaine de La Banne close to medieval Belvès, one of France’s most beautiful villages. Start your day with breakfast appreciating views of glorious open countryside and extensive gardens. Take a dip in your private, heated, salt water pool. Watch as the sun sets, the night sky becoming a star filled vista. Set in 7 hectares with views of Belvès in the distance, we are less than an hour from Bergerac airport. A luxury, exclusive getaway this is the perfect base from which to discover the region's attractions including beautiful châteaux, bustling markets and fine restaurants. Bordered by fields and woodlands, other visitors to the Domaine include deer, badgers, rabbits, hares and a plethora of birds.
We discovered La Banne in 2017. As soon as we entered the courtyard we immediately fell in love with the farmhouse and its surroundings, knowing this was the place that would give us the ‘changé de vie’ we had been seeking. The renovated farmhouse, barns and stunning countryside with Belvès as a backdrop, makes La Banne a special place. We moved from London in December 2017 to fulfil our dream of living in the Dordogne. Prior to moving to France I had a varied career in the UK, most recently as an actor, writer and theatre producer. Before that I was a senior manager at the BBC and ITV. We take great pleasure in sharing this amazing setting with others who wish to experience its tranquil beauty as well the region's history, culture and exemplary food and wine. We live in the farmhouse with our two dogs, Leo and Libby, enjoying nothing more than long walks with them in the beautiful countryside, woodlands and along the Dordogne river, all of which are on our doorstep. Gardening is a passion and we are happy to share home grown fruit and vegetables with guests when the harvest is plentiful.
Lieu-dit La Banne is a hamlet in the commune of Sagelat, a small friendly community 2.2km from the medieval village of Belvès. The river Nauze, a tributary of the Dordogne, runs through Sagelat which sits at the foothill of Belvès. You can enjoy a pleasant, 25 minute walk through country lanes, passing Sagelat’s 12th century church, up to the village with its restaurants, café-bars and weekly Saturday morning market. In Siorac-en-Perigord, located 6km away on the River Dordogne, there is a small selection of shops, café-bars, restaurants and a supermarket. Whether you simply want to relax by getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life or want to take the opportunity to explore the vast array of activities and sights on offer - markets, walks, canoeing, horse-riding, cycling, golf, visits to the many Chateaux in the region, prehistoric sites, great restaurants serving local produce - there is as little or as much to do and experience as you want. A warm welcome and unobtrusive hospitality is guaranteed at Domaine de La Banne. We do all we can to ensure your stay with us is memorable and that you leave loving the place as much as we love living here.
