lire en français lire en anglais La Barillère (house) or Barillerie (place) is an old wine-making property where they also used to make barrels (barils). In the 18th and 19th centuries, all the hills overlooking the villages of Verron and St Germain du Val were covered in vineyards. After all the French vineyards were decimated by the phylloxera in the late 19th century, the Barillerie was turned into an arable farm. With its property nestled inside 15 acres of meadows where the vines were replaced by walnut trees, wild cherry trees and maple trees, it is now a family mansion with character where you are sure to find peace and quiet.
