"La petite maison dans la prairie " : We present to you our spacious cottage "in the countryside", in the heart of the small village of Cassaignes in the Aude, located 430m above sea level, 50km south of Carcassonne, facing the Pyrenees range with a view of Rennes-le -Château and Pech de Bugarach. Small picturesque village very calm, of preserved architecture, located at 1:30 am from the sea and the mountain. Housed in an old stone house, the gîte is independent with direct access to shaded meadows. Comfortable and well equipped with bedroom (double bed), sofa bed, radio, TV, WiFi activated on demand, washing machine, 2 ovens (gas stove + electro-microwave), iron, hairdryer. Aware of our ecological impact, our home is equipped with a solar water heater and photovoltaic panel.

We are both retired and live in the house adjoining the cottage. Without exception, we are therefore permanently on site, especially to take care of our large vegetable garden! We will be of good advice to recommend you the good corners surrounding our small village. A surprise is also waiting for you in the fridge; o)

In the village, possibility of finding farm products: eggs, Gascon pigs, sheep, poultry, rabbits. Note for the second weekend of August: the gîte is in the front row for the annual village festival, atmosphere and music guaranteed (sometimes until late at night). The village is a "dead end", little traffic so ideal for children, the nearest train station (couiza-montazel) is 10km, Carcassonne airport is 45km, there are 2 loops of walks in the departure from the village as well as a mountain bike circuit. On-site activities: Two walking loops from the village as well as a Mountain Bike Circuit.
