Le Moulin de la Farge is a lovely place hidden in the heart of the Limousin. Our hamlet consists of a water mill, a farmhouse and a cottage (formerly a bakery). The buildings are constructed in a traditional, stone style and have their origin in the 17th century. The hamlet is located in a very quiet area at the end of a paved road, approximately 5 km from the village of Saint-Moreil. It is beautifully situated, bordering a lake with a brook, and is surrounded by rolling hills, woods, and meadows. (Note: the neighbouring lake is currently empty.) The B&B is located in the completely renovated farmhouse. It was refurbished in keeping with its traditional style, but features all modern conveniences. The two guest bedrooms, with en suite bathrooms (toilet, walk-in shower, bath), are located on the first floor. On the ground floor there is a living room exclusively for the guests, with a grand piano, TV (various channels + Netflix), DVD and CD player. On the ground floor there is also a large kitchen with dining area, where breakfast is served. Outside there is a large terrace and a spacious garden. Breakfast is included and is provided by us. On request you can reserve a 4-course dinner at 25 euros pp (incl. drinks). Note: Our B&B is remote. The nearest shops and restaurants are 20 to 30 minutes away by car.

The beautiful surroundings are ideally suitable for walking and cycling. There are numerous walking and mountain bike trails directly from the cottage. We have a few mountain bikes available which can be used free of charge. There are also many quiet (paved) roads in the immediate vicinity for cyclists. You can swim in the small lake on our doorstep and in the nearby Lac Saint-Hélène with beach. (Note: the neighbouring lake is currently empty.) Le Moulin de la Farge belongs to the village of Saint-Moreil. The Romanesque church (12th-13th century) and the village’s old washing place are worth a visit. On Thursday evening there is a small market, where local produce is sold. A small pub is open from Thursday to Saturday evenings. For other facilities you can go to the nearby medieval towns Bourganeuf, Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, Peyrat-le-Château and Eymoutiers, each with their own sights, shops and restaurants. Le Moulin de la Farge forms a good starting point for all kinds of trips in the region. Such as the lively city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain. The beautiful old town of Aubusson with its unique Musée de la Tapisserie. The impressive museum village of Oradour-sur-Glane. The large market in Felletin on Friday morning. The Lac de Vassivière, which offers various water sports and also hosts a contemporary art centre. The large pack of wolves that lives in the spaciously designed park Les Loups de Chabrières near Guéret.
