Hidden between the trees in the hills of Gémenos “Les Têtes de Mules” is situated. It is a small-scale B&B with 3 three separate units exclusively for adults.
From the garden a path leads directly into the woods of the Regional Park La Sainte Baume, where several walking routes can be found. Do you prefer mountain biking? This is a perfect place to do so.
Last but not least, there are a lot of typical Provencal villages and cities, like Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Cassis, to visit.
All studios are provided with their own private entrance, terrace, air conditioning, private bathroom and a king-size bed. Prepare easily your daily meals thanks to the kitchenette.
Cool down in the infinity pool with views over the hills and the famous Garlaban. Thanks to the Adults-Only concept, you will fully enjoy the tranquillity that the forest has to offer.
Because the B&B is situated in the hills, walking the stairs is inevitable. So don’t worry about your physical condition.
After 38 years I have changed course and swapped my house in The Netherlands for a house in The Provence. Here I enjoy rural life; you will mostly find me in the garden. Apart from that I like animals. When I think about The Provence, I think about olive trees, lavender, vineyards, and donkeys. That’s why you will find two donkeys welcoming you next to the parking lot.
Gémenos is situated in the Bouches-du-Rhône department bordering the Provence and the Côte D’Azur.
Marseille, about 30 minutes driving, is the second city of France and is directly on the Mediterranean. Walk to the old city centre, ‘Le Panier’, via the beautiful old harbour, ‘Le Vieux Port’, and wander around lovely old streets. Visit Notre-Dame de la Garde with panoramic views across the entire city.
Cassis is a small, but very bubbling harbour town about 20 minutes from the B&B. Cassis has a pleasant centre with shops. Most restaurants can be found at the seaside. Apart from the many boats and jetties you will also find a lovely beach here. When you leave the town there is no avoiding the vineyards. Of course, wine can be bought at the supermarket, but do as the locals do and buy your wine directly from the wine estate.
Between Marseille and Cassis you will find possibly the most beautiful nature reserve of France: The Calanques. The park can be visited on foot as well as by boat. Boats depart daily from the harbours of Marseille and Cassis.
Aix-en-Provence is a lively city, focused on tourism. The centre offers many beautiful little streets and old squares with fountains. On Saturday’s there is a big market that is really worth visiting. Obviously, there are many shops, restaurants and bars. Aix-en-Provence is a 40-minute drive away from the B&B.
