The OVO Network team’s opinion - With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, two-storey Loft Petit Charbel can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests (max six adults). Natural light floods the living area, thanks to the doors which open onto the balcony. Relax in the seating area in front of the television or get together at the dining table for a delicious meal, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Outside, two furnished balconies offer breathtaking views of the village and the Portes du Soleil peaks. The first of the bedrooms is on this floor – a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a separate toilet. There are three more bedrooms on the upper floor: a bunk room for two, and two bright double rooms with doors to the balcony. One of the double rooms has an en-suite shower room with a toilet, while the other rooms share a second bathroom and toilet. Finally, there is space for two vehicles in the covered garage below the building, but if you’d prefer not to use your car, the shuttle bus stops just 100 meters away. Located in the Val d’Abondance, Châtel is one of the 12 resorts in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area. Linked to Avoriaz, Torgon and Morgins, its altitude and position between the Alps and Lake Geneva ensure good snow conditions throughout the season. The resort features a snow park, a boardercross area and a beginners’ area at Super-Châtel, as well as slopes for intermediate and advanced skiers in the Linga/Pré la Joux area. Ski-touring enthusiasts will find 49km of dedicated routes around the village. In summer, cyclists are drawn to the mountain roads, many of which feature in the Tour de France. Châtel’s bike park has 20 mountain biking trails, and many of the village’s shops hire out bikes and equipment. Hikers will find plenty to explore in the region, with around 400km of trails across 48 circuits. Lake Vonnes is a perfect spot for fishing, paddleboarding or simply enjoying a family picnic.
