Lynn is a retired UK and French healthcare professional and her husband Tony, is a retired UK government employee. They have lived in France since 2010 and have much experience in hosting volunteer guests within the Workaway scheme, leading to five star reviews for hospitality, locality and food. Guests will be sure to find that Lynn and Tony will provide a warm welcome as friendly, relaxed and convivial hosts. In addition to English, they both speak French, and Lynn speaks a little German and even a touch of Dutch!
Both Lynn and Tony enjoy cooking, Tony having a particular interest in traditional French methods of food preparation and preservation, often using produce from the garden in the process.

This traditional Béarnaise farmhouse has been renovated to a high standard and is now a beautiful home with elevated views of the Pyrenees mountains and surrounding peaceful countryside. 
There is a choice of 3 bedrooms available on the first floor, all of which have classic French charm with many original features, and overlooking the surrounding countryside. These 3 rooms come with silent aircon whilst the ensuite bathrooms are of a contemporary design including power showers. 
There is also a disabled access bedroom with ensuite bathroom on the ground floor. This room has been designed with mobility in mind, and is directly accessible from a dedicated disabled-access driveway.
Tea and coffee is available in all rooms.
Guests are welcome to spend their time relaxing in the garden and terrace areas, or enjoy some of the local ‘Layazou’ walks, recently created by the village Mayor and his colleagues.

The house is situated 6km from the nearest town of Navarrenx which, since 2014, has been in the association Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. The earliest history of the town dates back to the first century. It is a beautiful and quintessentially charming Bearnaise town with a range of restaurants and bars, most of which are contained within its ancient battlements or ‘bastide’. There are regular summer events in Navarrenx, including choral reviews and regular music performances.
This part of the Béarn region of France boasts a wonderful culinary history and there are numerous excellent local restaurants that the hosts use and can recommend to others. 
In addition to the numerous local ‘Layazou’ walks, the nearby river or ‘gave’ provides excellent opportunities for swimming or simply sitting and watching the day go by.
It takes just over an hour to reach some of the high passes and peaks of the Pyrenees. Tony regularly enjoys the challenge of climbing the mountains both in France and along the border with Spain. The walking routes within the Basque region are sublime.
