This unique and tastefully restored former water mill is built on the bonnieure river and home to the current owner Gary Martin and Winnie, a Norfolk Terrier that adores people. Gary is a former Building Contractor that decided it was time to hang up his spurs and seek new adventures, so with his shotgun partner (Winnie) by his side they made the final move to their new beloved home to stamp their mark on and enjoy life, and new friends.

Our accommodation has its own individual character and style and has been furnished to a high standard with care to preserve the property’s original features and traditional appearance, whilst also affording the comfort, privacy and convenience of a modern home. Set within an attractive walled courtyard, guests have access to the grounds, with plenty of space for relaxing in the famous Charente sunshine or taking it easy in the shade, so that your privacy and tranquility are guaranteed. Moulin du Fontcourt is located in Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure, a commune in the Charente department of South west France, off the N141, 28 km from Angoulême and 48 Min 64 km away from Limoges airport. Our riverside Gite and guest house offers self-catering and bed & breakfast accommodation. Your host and owner is Mr Gary Martin and his companion Winnie (a soft Norfolk terrier) fell in love with the property in 2021 and quickly set about making it the beautiful home you see today. The draw of the area was a huge factor in our decision to move to the South of France, with it’s short mild winters, and it’s long summers. (it is the second sunniest region in France!) Chasseneuil sur Bonnieure is a great little Town with many restaurants, shops and services. It has history dating back to prehistoric times and was a major crossing point across France in Roman times. It was a 'Resistance' Town in WW11.
