Located outside the village of Rauret, le Moulin du Meunier offers access to the river Vidourle where you can swim, fish & canoe, a large park, and a furnished terrace. Surrounded by nature, this historic building (1737) is 4 minutes from Quissac, the nearest town and 45 minutes from Nimes & Montpellier. Set in a restored 18th century Mill, it produced olive oil and flour using the huge stone wheels still located in the cellars, this charming property has a spacious garden, outdoor seating areas and includes a BBQ. Guests have access to the entire property with a working fireplace, river view, flat-screen TV, DVD player, offers free broadband internet & wi-fi and DVDs in English & French, local tourist information and games for kids and adults alike. The bedrooms feature classic décor, plenty of natural light, river or garden views and include fans. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, hairdryer, and heated towel rail. Le Moulin du Meunier provides 2 canoës at no extra charge, and there is horse riding, rambling and bicycle trails close by. The town of Sommières with its famous Saturday market and Roman bridge is 15 minutes’ drive away.

Owner Steven has lived in the area for 30+ years and appreciates all that it has to offer. From the peace and quiet of Rauret, to the wonderful sounds of the musical festivals held locally, to the spectacular scenery of the Cevennes mountains, the easily accessible Mediterranean beaches and the Camargue, Steven is never short of things to do. He particularly enjoys trips to Nimes and Montpellier: Nimes for its Roman sites including the UNESCO World Heritage site, La Maison Carrée and the amphitheatre and the impressive Musée de la Romanité, Montpellier for its Musée Fabre , shopping and dynamism. When he is not meeting and greeting the 500+ guests that the Moulin du Meunier has welcomed over the last 15 years from France, Britain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Australia, and USA, he is producing grape juice from the vines on the property.
