The Depot Anchois is an old 1950's anchovy packing factory that has been converted into 4 apartments. Each one has its own garden with space to eat outdoors. The beach is a 1 minute walk. The accommodations are full of character, but basic. Wifi is spotty which makes this the perfect place to detox and unwind. There is a very basic air-conditioning unit in each unit. The terraces are a wonderful place for a nap and there are umbrellas to provide shade. Restaurants are minutes away, all with wifi for free. So if you do need to get in touch you can do this over a glass of Rosé or a café crème. You are also at the foot of the Pyrenees with beautiful hikes through the vineyards.

My mum, Carole Ginn bought this property 40 years ago with my father and 25 years ago they converted it into these apartments. This is the first year that I have taken over the rentals for her and the first year that their own apartment is available to rent. We have fond memories of many family holidays in the Depot. Collioure is an incredibly special town with both a chateau and a church on the waterfront. It was also home to Picasso, Braque, Durant and Matisse in the early 1900s and it where Fauvism was created.The chateau is now a modern art museum promoting local artists and has incredible views of the town. Collioure has a number of wineries and is in the foothills of the Pyrenees where the grapes are grown. Farmers' markets are on Wednesday and Sunday and are 5 minute walk in the middle of town. Porte Vendres to the south has a fish market, making farm to table meals easy. The Rose and the Cava are delicious if you enjoy your wines.
