It’s a house with a unique history and a beautiful garden with uninterrupted views of the Channel. Pluto House stands for Pipe Line Under The Ocean (Operation Pluto on Wikipedia). It was built for the Normandy Landings by the Ministry of Defence. Information and documents on the house and the Operation Pluto can be found at the Imperial War Museum in London.
The house is very private and peaceful. PLEASE NOTE: There is ONE double bedroom with a king size bed. Guests have a second private room which is a study/sitting room located immediately next to the bedroom overlooking the Channel with France in the distance. Bathroom is shared. There’s free street parking or we are happy for you to use our parking bay. Garden is available which has seating arrangements. Tea and coffee can be made in the kitchen.
We do not have a television- most people bring their own laptops etc. it might be useful to have some earphones.

This is a famous nature reserve on the Coast. Derek Jarman’s garden (Prospect Cottage) is a 5 minute walk. It’s great for walking, cycling, swimming and fishing.
Rye, Hythe and Folkestone, as well as Hastings are all close by. Two of England’s great gardens are both within a day’s travelling distance: Sissinghurst Castle and Garden (21 miles door to door) created by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson; and Great Dixter House and Gardens (17 miles door to door) created by the great gardener and garden writer Christopher Lloyd.
There are many antique and second hand shops in Rye, Hythe and Hastings Old Town.
