Bolthole Retreats was founded in 2017 by Martin McWilliam and is based in Cheltenham.
We are the leading independent agency for Cotswold holiday rental properties. We work closely with owners and housekeepers to ensure that guests have a truly memorable stay.

Tucked along a quiet lane just outside of the main high streets of Malmesbury lies Horsefair Cottage, a beautifully restored Grade II listed period cottage that has been designed to maximise light and space. Set over three floors, featuring two double bedrooms, a large bathroom and a fantastic contemporary kitchen/diner, Horsefair Cottage is brimming with unique Cotswold cottage features, such as a cosy wood burner and exposed beams. Well-equipped and ideally located.

Please note a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is fully refundable up to 60 days of arrival when your remaining balance payment is due.
One well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional fee of 40 GBP. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog and you will be sent a request for the additional fee.
The cottage is located over 3 floors, with a steep wooden staircase and some low beams. Please take care and note that this property is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Bedroom one on the second floor is open to the stairs and does not have a separate door.

Although a car is beneficial for guests wanting to explore the wider Cotswolds area, Horsefair Cottage’s location makes it perfect for those who’d prefer to leave the car at home during their stay. As well as a wide choice of shops, there is a regular farmers' market - held at the historic Market Cross every Friday from 9am to 3pm - a library, museum and leisure centre with pool.
Malmesbury is well-equipped with a plethora of independent stores, eateries and supermarkets, making catering for your stay at Horsefair Cottage a breeze. For a special treat in the morning, head left out of the front door to the end of the road and you will reach Michael’s Bistro and Deli, offering fantastic breakfasts, as well as a fresh butcher’s counter with award winning sausages! You could also visit Hobbs House Bakery (5-minute walk) for a fresh loaf, pastry or piping hot coffee! Health food lovers should also pop their heads into The Wild Food Company on the High Street, where a host of healthy, organic and vegetarian goodies can be found.
Malmesbury town centre is home to a Co-Operative Food and Premier Express, whilst a larger Waitrose store sits just on the outskirts of the town; a 5-minute drive.
