Aberfforest House is a traditional farmhouse, set just 150 yards from the sea in one of Pembrokeshire’s most unspoilt coves from which it takes its name, Aberfforest. The house was renovated throughout (in 2015); there's a large well-equipped kitchen/diner, ideal for preparing family meals with its large, range cooker and twelve seater farmhouse table. There are two sitting rooms, one with a retained Inglenook and wood burning stove and a further cosy snug where children can relax and watch TV. Two staircases lead to the spacious bedrooms, there are five on the first floor, two offering super views over the beach and out to sea and a fixed wooden step ladder leads to a final galleried attic bedroom nestling in the eaves. The enclosed, rear garden with paved terrace has views to the sea and is perfect to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening. A short stroll from the house is the sand and shingle beach and the sheltered cove which is ideal for swimming and kayaking and is a favourite haunt of seals and dolphins. Another short stroll through deciduous ancient woodlands will take you to the spectacular waterfall and you can follow the river on its final run over the beach and into the sea. The bay, which can only be approached by the general public over a long footpath, is almost private and has launching facilities available by prior arrangement. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and enjoy walks along the coast to Newport with its golden sandy beach on the mouth of the Nevern river with its shops, pubs and restaurants or east to Cwm yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaelod and Dinas Head. The villages of Newport and Dinas with their facilities are both within 2 miles, a pleasant walk in good weather. I was lucky enough to grow up in Aberfforest House and when, in 2014, my parents announced they were selling the house, my husband and I quickly decided to buy it from them. We set to work alongside the builders in renovating the house and although we spend as much time there as we possibly can we have rented it ever since it was completed in 2015. Happily, judging by the number of guests who come back to us every year and by the lovely messages in our visitors book, there are now many people who love the house as much as we do. Aberfforest House is a fully modernised 200 year old detached farmhouse, sitting in one of Pembrokeshire’s most unspoilt coves, a regular haunt of seals and dolphins, and direct access to the famous Coastal Path. Also, yards from the house is the largest waterfall in Pembrokeshire set in a beautiful woodland setting. With a huge array of pubs, restaurants, and activities in easy reach, the house has six bedrooms and three bathrooms and was lovingly renovated throughout (in 2015).
