It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Albero.
We hope you will be delighted with our property, situated on the scenic harbourside of Eyemouth, on the glorious East Berwickshire Coast. We created our seaside retreat in the summer of 2016 when we refurbished this spacious duplex apartment, turning it into a luxury holiday property with the help of local design company, Decodance of Eyemouth. Our intention was to design a sophisticated and contemporary space that was equally a warm and welcoming hideaway for our guests and we very much hope you will experience this during your stay.
Nestled between two busy food outlets, Albero is perfectly situated in the centre of Eyemouth, allowing easy access to the harbour, beach, shops and tourist attractions. Furnished to an extremely high standard, the boutique interior exudes luxury, comfort and style.
Albero belongs to local business owners who enjoy working and living in Eyemouth and who have put their own stamp on the recent refurbishment of this duplex apartment, with great attention paid to the detail of the property and the finishing touches.
Eyemouth, like many of the Border towns has its story to tell of warring English and Scots, with sea battles of the time still evident in the fortified remains at Fort Point. The rugged east coast shores also assisted in the 18th and 19th century smuggling activity in Eyemouth – Gunsgreen House tells the tale extremely well, with artefacts and interactive displays. Eyemouth is also known for the fishing disaster of 1881, when the lives of 189 local fisherman were lost at sea during a ferocious storm. Follow the story of Black Friday at the town’s museum and visitor information centre.
Today, we are lucky to have one of the last remaining working harbours on the East Coast of Scotland, where daily activity can be watched from Albero’s windows. The harbour is also home to leisure craft and the opportunity for willing seafarers to view the coastline and sea-life from an ocean perspective.
Just a few miles up the coast, you can also discover the delights of Coldingham – with its long sandy beach and wide bay, perfect for surfers and picnics and St. Abbs – a diving haven and a must visit with its nature reserve, quaint coffee shops and first class art gallery and visitors centre
