Set in the heart of the cobbled old town of St Ives, The Anchorage, a former Sea Captains home, is a beautiful 3 bedroomed, grade II listed Guest house dating back to the 1730s. Our small, but comfortable, retreat is nestled just steps away from fabulous restaurants, award winning beaches and the famous St Ives School of Painting. Enjoy an ice cream on the harbour a day of surfing the waves or a tour around The Tate St Ives, each just moments from the front door.
Our three comfortable rooms are all ensuite or have private bathroom, and are equipped with Smart TVs, mini fridges and Safe, tea and coffee making facilities and free ultrafast WI-FI access. Our rooms are bookable on an accommodation only basis and for those guests requiring breakfast, there are many restaurants and bakeries offering everything from Croissants to full English, on the door step!
The Anchorage is a beautiful quaint old building with original features including steep and narrow stairs and low ceiling height throughout, especially in the Du Maurier room which is in the eaves of the house. We would not recommend booking with us if you have mobility issues.
The Anchorage has been hosted by Karen and Amanda Walsh since November 2019, a mother and daughter team, who have been visiting St Ives for many years and have always hoped to become a small part of this vibrant community.
Amanda has now lived and worked in St Ives for over 4 years and manages the Society of Artists in St Ives as well as running The Anchorage.
St Ives is the ideal place to relax and unwind on one of our many award winning beaches. Diving & fishing trips, pleasure cruises and surfing will suit most ages. Out of season, enjoy an artistic challenge by enrolling in one of the St Ives Painting School Art courses or just indulge yourselves at one of the many restaurants and pubs, serving the freshest seafood and local produce.
