We moved to Callander 8 years ago and absolutely love the town and the area. There are so many walks to enjoy and so much nature to observe. We really want others to enjoy this spectacular part of Scotland and have tried hard to create a comfortable, relaxing house for people to enjoy.
We love cycling, running and swimming in the nearby lochs - particularly Loch Venachar.
One of us always meets the guests to show them around the house and hand over the keys. We will always be delighted to offer any advice or answer any questions that guests may have about the area.
If you enjoy hillwalking then the hill that overlooks the town is one you will love tackling. It is called Ben Ledi and the views from the top are spectacular and take in a selection of lochs including Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond.
There are many other hills of varying degrees of climbing difficulty in the area and of course, there are quite a few Monroes ( mountains over 3000 feet high) to explore in the National Park.
The town of Callander is known as the gateway to The Trossachs and is a very pretty little town with a great community feel. It is situated on the fault-line where the lowlands and highlands meet and offers a real taste of Scotland.
A boat trip on nearby Loch Katrine is highly recommended, where you will see spectacular scenery and maybe even spot an osprey during certain times of the year.
Nearby Doune Castle is another great place to visit and fans of the popular tv series 'Outlander' will no doubt recognise it as one of the settings.
There are quite a few whisky distilleries in the area that all offer tours to whisky fans. The closest distillery to Annfield House is Deanston distillery in Doune which is about 8 mile away.
