We look forward to welcoming you to this glorious bit of South West Scotland and hope you come to love it as much as we do. We want you to have a fantastic holiday and want to come back again and again as many of our guests do. We farm the Arbigland Estate which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and recognised as such in that it is designated as being in a National Scenic Area and a site of Special Scientific Interest - the fossils along the beach tell a tale. We want to share it with you and will do all we can to ensure you have a brilliant holiday.

Lapwing, Skylark and Curlew Lodge: There are a total of three very comfortable seaside lodges set in a beautiful position with stunning rural and sea views. They are set in about half an acre of landscaped ground so each have their own space and privacy. The orchard leads down to the beach (a minutes walk away), a good pub is a 5 minute walk along the beach. Brilliant walks from the doorstep and dogs welcome. Close to three of the Seven Stanes Mountain Biking routes. Incredible birdlife as between Mersehead and Caerlaverock Bird sancturaries. The lodges are light and bright with lots of room and a cosy wood burning stove for the winter. Every detail thought of and good outside space for BBQ's and a glass of wine while enjoying the views and peace and quiet. The ideal spot to get away from it all either as a couple or a family or take all three chalets giving you lots of room for friends or large family gatherings.

Our Lodges are very popular with couples and families wanting a seaside holiday and those who enjoy birdwatching, walking, mountain biking and golf (Southerness Championship course is a 10 minute drive away). Our cottages also attract artists as the surrounding scenery really is inspiring. There is lots to see and do locally - the food town of Castle Douglas is a 30 minute drive away and Kircudbright is the 'artists' town further along the coast. There are lovely walks all along the coast and charming seaside villages to explore nearby such as Rockcliffe, Sandyhills, and Kippford. Kippford also being a popular sailing destination. Drumlanrig Castle is well worth seeing and if you are a foodie there are the smokeries on your way to Wigtown (renowned for its Book Festival and unique book shops) and the Farm shop at Loch Arthur. Our unique micro climate has given rise to the incredible gardens at Threave, Logan Botanical Gardens and Castle Kennedy not forgetting the Garden of Cosmic Speculation at Portrack. Drumlanrig Castle is well worth a visit and the charms or Sweet Heart Abbey are just down the road. Lots to see and do.
