Property information

Capstone House is a large, Victorian house that we first stepped into in the summer of 2021, when it looked quite different to how it does today. It has charming original features such as the mouldings on the ceilings in the front living room; the hardwood flooring in the hallway and living room, refinished and varnished; the side window at the top of the stairs which several of the other houses on the street carry. The property was originally part of the Scarisbrick Estate, from whom we purchased the freehold title at the same time as purchasing the leasehold. The property has undergone substantial renovation works, including opening out the ground floor on one side to create a large kitchen dining area with bifolds to the rear. The grounds to the front and back were extensively landscaped in porcelain, and the number of bathrooms was increased from two to four prior to full paint and decoration. Hotel quality furnishings, particularly on the beds and ben linen, have been used throughout. Capstone House is now getting the love and attention it quite rightly deserves.

Neighbourhood information

The neighbours to either side of the property are very friendly. The street itself enjoys the happy coincidence of being quiet, residential and yet near to the town centre, which can be walked to by proceeding to the end of Linaker Street, turning left down Southbank road, and then taking the A570 bridge towards Lords Street.
