Buckton is a family owned working farm. The main part of the farmhouse is grade II listed dating back to the mid 1800’s. It was extended early 1900’s & much of the traditional architecture remains. The guest room is situated in main part of the house and has 3 sash bay windows giving lots of light and views of the farmland. The farm has the privilege of its own spring water thus pure drinking water for all. There is parking within the grounds of the main farmhouse. The guest room has its own a separate entrance & staircase with its own private bathroom and sunny breakfast room. Relax with luxury robes & slippers when guests stay a minimum of 3 nights Wifi is present; however, the broadband is standard and not fibre, so at times it is slow, but it does work in some areas of the house. The fabulous 360 degree views from the farmhouse helps us understand why our Wifi is slow at times
We moved to Buckton Farm in September 2018. It was a huge move for us as a family. We farmed sheep in Wiltshire for many years. On the odd occasion when we had a holiday it was always to Northumberland as it is such a beautiful county. Now we are living here in a gorgeous spot of the country, we feel very lucky.
Martin farms the land himself, which keeps him busy. We have 2 teenage girls who love being out and about on the farm helping. I suppose I am a typical farmer’s wife as I enjoy cooking and baking at home. I enjoy searching the area for local produce offering local honey from Honey Farm in Berwick-upon-Tweed, which the bees have made on our farm. Northern Edge Coffee is roasted in Berwick. The majority of the cheeses are local as well as yoghurt if I can find it!. Eggs are delivered from Chatton
Next year we hope to plant a fruit and vegetable patch within the walled garden, so I can offer home grown produce and afternoon cream teas to our guests. During our third year we will continue in the gardens, plant trees and get on top of all the ivy.
We are very proud of our guest room and hopefully look forward to meeting you.
