Cairns Farm has been in the Hamilton Family for four generations. What started as a hill sheep farm, home to Scottish Blackface ewes has evolved over the decades welcoming Highland cattle, rescue hens and even alpacas. Now owned and farmed by Graham and Caroline, Cairns Farm has seen lots of changes over the years.

Cairns Farm is located at the foot of the Pentland Hills Regional Park, nestled by Harperrig Reservoir. The views across the Pentlands are quite beautiful, stretching across the hills and reservoir to Edinburgh in the distance. The historic Cairns Castle ruin also sits to the water.
Set amidst dramatic hills and moorland, Cairns is rural but certainly not remote - located only 20 minutes west of Edinburgh, and within easy travel time of Glasgow and the surrounding counties. Edinburgh Airport is only a 25 minute drive away. The cost for a taxi is usually approximately 30/40 pounds
Your choice – enjoy your time exploring the farm and landscape or head out to the capital city for some sightseeing time.
Please note that as Cairns Farm is not on a bus route, your own car is necessary.
