Cala Fearnadh is a new, unique, off-grid cottage in a quiet village, with stunning sea views of Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond. There is nothing quite like it anywhere on the island! ELECTRIC POWER IS 12V, generated by solar panels on the roof, with limited mains power for device charging only. Water comes from the tranquil Loch Assapol, which supplies much of the area.
There are 2 bedrooms: one with a king bed; the other a double, which can convert to 2 singles. There are 2 bathrooms, each with shower and toilet - one is en-suite with the king bedroom. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen, and a living area with a cosy wood stove. The wood stove heats the whole building, and in winter it is essential to keep it maintained. Please make sure someone in your party is competent and confident with wood stoves! (Logs and kindling provided)
The building is perched on quite a steep property with a stepped pathway which might be a challenge for those with mobility issues. You will have access to the whole property, however there is a steep bank and a stream bordering the west side; and thick, prickly gorse bushes as you go up the hill. So due care should be taken, and appropriate parenting skills used where children are involved.
We are brother and sister, who fell in love with Mull for differing reasons! We love sharing our quirky, eco-friendly and serene little cabin.
Bunessan is a quiet, peaceful village, with a small grocery shop, and a pub/hotel (limited during winter). 10 minutes west lies the village of Fionnphort, where the ferry leaves for the spiritual island of Iona.
