This charming space with double bed, wood burner and solar electricity has all you need for a basic yet comfortable countryside break. The kitchen is well set up for cooking proper meals or to simply put a ready meal in the gas oven. The wood burner lights easily, getting it warm and toasty quickly, even in the winter. This space is "off-grid". Spring water for drinking and cooking is pumped by us from our well and replenished upon request. A generous basket load of fuel for the burner is included, further wood can be bought (15 per extra load). Shared compost loo and basic shower are a few steps away. We're a micro family business and have been providing authentic yurt stays since 2009 because we're passionate to share this beautiful place and give others a chance to experience eco-living. We are a guest favourite based on previous ratings, reviews and reliability. To give customers extra space and privacy there are only 2 yurts in the field (about 30m apart). You can do a 'self check-in' but we are more than happy for guests to come and say hello and ask questions. Welcome! You'll have privacy, yet we are close enough should you need anything. Your accommodation is situated at the edge of Landmatters eco-community, where we live low-impact ourselves. The 2 yurts are situated in a wild flower meadow with plenty of space around them. Our house is the only other building nearby and visible. Please respect our neighbours' space and their peace and quiet. When driving off site we ask that you turn left out of the gate so as to avoid driving through the hamlet of Allaleigh. Guests can enjoy strolling in the fields and woods, make sure you know where the boundaries are and please leave no litter. Your custom is supporting a permaculture way of life, thank you!

The yurt is situated at the heart of the South Hams, a region of rural and coastal Devon much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is noted for its wonderful outdoor environment, with rivers, moor land, coasts and the sea offering visitors a range of activities. Moreover it features historic towns, interesting culture, attractions and leisure facilities. This location is a great place from which to explore the surrounding area, with a 2min drive to good A-roads accessing Totnes, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge. But please be aware this is a rural location, the road leading to our property is a narrow Devon lane and the track going up to the yurts is bumpy in places. We're on a national cycle route which will take you to Totnes avoiding busy roads.
