Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm is owned and run by Josh and Natalie Hyson with a little help from Romy (14) and Cerys (12), our beautiful daughters. We moved here in 2015, started farming Alpacas in 2019 and opened for ‘glamping’ in 2021 We are a very laid back family. We enjoy growing our own meat and veg , collecting our own eggs , the countryside, camp fires and a drink down the pub. Natalie is a fully qualified yoga instructor with an on site studio.

Experience hand feeding Alpacas everyday of your stay ! Guests tell us that Dartmoor Reach is more than just Glamping . 3 gorgeous glamping cabins and a bus .Cabins sleep 4 people and are designed for 2 adults and 2 children ( SINGLE BEDS ARE 5 FOOT LONG AND 2 FOOT 6 INCHES WIDE ) . Hen House is slightly more compact which is reflected in the pricing. Cabins have a kitchenette (no oven) with a gas hob , sink, fridge. Buttercup and Bluebell have an en suite WC. A small toilet block with one shower and one toilet for the sole use of the Hen House (The Hen House does not have an en suite WC). Cabins are nestled underneath ancient oak trees in a 5 acre field . The field is also home to 12 alpacas , 30 hens , 20 ducks and a couple of pigs. Each hut is situated so it is not overlooked . You have lots of privacy . The two larger cabins have an ensuite toilet and hot outside shower and the smaller cabin is situated within 15 meters of its private toilet and hot shower block. The huts are equipped with all you need for your stay. Cutlery, plates, pots and pans, are all included. Linen and towels are not included but available to hire. Each hut has a private deck area out front with a picnic bench and sun loungers/day beds on. There are fire pits and logs to hire/buy on site. Dartmoor Reach is a working farm so don’t be surprised to see Alpacas outside the front door, hens pecking around the field and pigs rootling in the mud . Play areas for the children with a mud kitchen, wendy house, slide and rope swing. Josh and Natalie live on site and are happy to help with anything the guests need. Dartmoor Reach is on the edge of Dartmoor National Park with the nearest Tor – Haytor- a ten minute drive away . There are many beautiful walks to be had nearby including one to our award winning local pub – The Claycutters arms (15 minutes on foot). We are lucky to have so many beautiful beaches close by . Our nearest beach is Teignmouth (20 mins drive)and the gorgeous South Hams...

Our local town – Bovey Tracey “ The Gateway to the Moor “ is 1.5 miles away . An amazing high street which includes a fruit and veg shop , a baker , butcher , 2 delicatessens offering a variety of fresh bread, fine wines and cheeses and other local produce, various local and charity shops , a post office, an interior design shop , a weekly visit from a fresh fish van , a Tesco Express , a Co-op, independent cafes, a heated outside swimming pool and 3 pubs. Dartmoor National Park 3 miles away.
