Spend this summer in the city of spires, living on an 'Island' right on the river Thames.
Watch wildlife at the lock, see boats moored up taking in the view and enjoy a drink or a meal at the local pub.
5 minute walk from the station, gives you the perfect position to explore this wonderful city and surrounding green spaces.
Our home is work in progress and we are renovating it.
We look forward to hosting you. 😃
The space
“I wonder if anybody does anything at Oxford but dream and remember, the place is so beautiful. One almost expects the people to sing instead of speaking. It is all like an opera.” – WB Yeats.
If you're expecting a pristine, hotel-like experience then this isn't for you. If you are happy to accommodate a family home that is in a phase of renovation, that boasts an unbeatable location in Oxford, with waterfront views, then this could be the one for you.
We love to travel, love to host and hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Wander through the cobbled streets of Oxford, admiring the Gothic architecture, Saxon towers, Norman castle and medieval pubs.
A stones throw from the station, you can enjoy both riverside walks, some fantastic (very old) pubs, or take in the University tours, history and innovation.
A few streets away, you can loose yourself along the canals that inspired Philip Pullman’s
His Dark Materials trilogy. Pullman was inspired to set parts of his books in Jericho after walking around the area and the canal for many years. He was intrigued by Jericho's history as a vibrant community with a working canal, having lived in Oxford since he was a student in the 1960s.
Recommended pubs are;
On our road, the Punter, around the corner, the Hollybush, a cycle / longer walk away, the Perch. Further still, The fishes, the Trout.
