Fishers Arms is traditional country pub , set in a beautiful countryside close to the banks of the river Tweed. There has been a pub in the salmon fishing village of Horncliffe since 1760.
Our two guest rooms have been cosily decorated and have comfortable king size beds with hotel quality bedlinen and towels. Each room has an en-suite with a walk-in shower. TV and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk are provided. Breakfast is included in your booking. The pub serves traditional satisfying pub food and cask beers. Tea coffee and cake are available, as well as a range of menus through the week from daily lunch offerings and a seasonal dinner menu. Please contact the pub for details of special dining occasions and other events.
The upstairs rooms are accessed by their own entrance door, however people with mobility issues may find the stairs in this 1760's building quite steep. Friendly locals will welcome you and tell you the story of how the Horncliffe community saved our village pub.
The pub was put up for sale in October 2021 and was purchased by the community in July 2022. Horncliffe residents are delighted to have their pub back, and proud they were able to save it for the future generations to enjoy. Currently the pub is being run by volunteers until a tenant is appointed. You will always find a friendly welcome here.
On the banks of the river Tweed the Fishers Arms is convenient for the Lower Tweed trail and cycling routes including Sustrans Routes 1 and 68. Nearby Berwick-upon Tweed has small, artisan shops, beautiful coastal views from the Elizabethan town walls and many eateries and cafes. Frequent trains run to Edinburgh and Newcastle.
