Forsinard Lodge is located in Forsinard just 1 mile from the train station and easily accessible by car. The RSPB Forsinard Flows site is just under 1 mile away and surrounds the property which is situated in a very quiet area of Scotland, if you are looking for peace and quiet away from others, with beautiful walks and scenery right outside, this is the place for you. The lodge also houses The Tea Room which is open from 10am to 6pm everyday except Tuesday in the summer and 10am to 4pm everyday except Monday and Tuesday in the winter, please note the Tea Room will still offer food and drinks to our residents when it is closed for the normal hours of 10am to 6pm. Thurso is 40 minutes away by car and Helmsdale is 30 minutes by car, the train station services the main line railway between Inverness and Thurso/Wick with 4 trains a day most of the year.
Due to the rural nature of the property there is no WIFI available, however, there is a mast just up the road allowing good mobile phone signal, we also do not provide a tv as there is also no signal for this. This really is the place to get away from everything and immerse yourself in the beauty and solitude that this part of Scotlands offers.
Our rooms have been recently renovated offering en-suite accomodation with warm comfortable double beds, tea and coffee facilities and of course stunning views. The outlook to the front of the property does overlook the carpark but just behind this is a lovely bubbling stream and plenty of bird feeders to occupy the eye.
We have a small team waiting to welcome you to Forsinard Lodge with Adrienne who runs the tea room during the day and David and Janet Southard who also run their photography workshop business. We have been welcoming guests to events and accomodation for 20 years and we are very passionate about this beautiful area.
Our guests love the rural nature of this area, with plenty of hill walking available, in the winter months the local Red Deer can be easily seen and in the summer month it's a bird watchers paradise. If you have travelled by car there are plenty of areas to explore offering more beautiful hills and wild Scottish coastlines. If you like fishing, permits are available from the local estates for both salmon and trout fishing. We can also offer nature trekking activities and photography workshops.
