「The location was great for us as we were visiting family nearby, The site was lovely, green and peaceful. The lodge was nicely furnished, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the deck area.」
Beautifully presented 3 bed holiday bungalow set within Honicombe Park, Tamar Valley; an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO Heritage world site (tin mining legacy). Beautiful walks directly through woods to Calstock and NT Cotehele House, River Tamar. Easy access to beaches and coastal paths north and south. Eden Project 1 hour. Local pubs with food nearby and on-site. Access to pools / gym / tennis courts. Private deck with sofa's and BBQ: Kids play area in front of lodge. Super clean - no smoking or pets Please note Honicombe Park is for holiday makers only. Commercial guests and commercial vehicles are not permitted on site.
I grew up in the Tamar Valley and went to school at the nearby Delaware School and Callington College. Our family moved away but I kept on returning to revisit my fabulous childhood, roaming the lanes, visiting tin mines , the woods and the Tamar and visiting Whitsand Bay and Tavistock. I still do all those things- in rotation - every time I return and that’s usually once a month for a week. Now though I add in the Rattler and local pubs! It’s a special place that isn’t spoilt. So much to do within an hour in every direction whilst returning to local people and a quiet setting. It’s in my blood and I luckily was able to buy my lodge - aka sanctuary! Hope you agree once you’ve stayed.
Do contact me if any issues and I will do my best to resolve with local contacts.
Walk from site to Cotehele House and Calstock through the woods. Walking directions available in the lodge.
Parking available on site close to lodge. Bus service between Callington and Tavistock. Gunnislake train station within walking distance for trains to Plymouth that go over the Calstock viaduct.
