Warham is a small hamlet tucked away just a mile or so inland from the coast at Wells-next-the-Sea. You wouldn't really find it if you weren't looking! The village boasts views across the Stiffkey valley and towards Wighton in the south, two churches and the remains of two large manor houses, one of which was owned by the Turner family, once major landowners who were in the end eclipsed by the Holkham Estate.
For a more energetic exploration, venture out on the water with a Seal trip from Morston or Blakeney, a fishing trip or a nature cruise out to one of North Norfolk's best kept secrets, Scolt Head Island Nature Reserve.
There is an excellent choice of places to eat, the nearest being The Three Horseshoes gastropub in Warham, a great place to head to for a refreshing pint or a hearty bite to eat. Treat yourself to the delectable tasting menu at the Michelin starred Morston Hall or for takeaways, a trip into Wells-next-the-Sea will reveal two fantastic fish and chips options, at Plattens and at Frenchs. Perhaps you fancy trying out the wine bar VinedMe in Little Walsingham
Head out of the village towards the neighbouring village of Wighton and you'll discover the Iron Age fort, Warham Camp which is probably the best-preserved hill fort in Norfolk, plus another super pub, The Carpenter's Arms. For landlubbers, take a trip to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve at Cley Marshes, or hire a bike from the quayside to spend the day exploring the estate and local coastal paths. Nearby the coastal village of Stiffkey is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is renowned for the vivid plethora wildlife that inhabits its salt-marshes.
