Watlington is located between Downham Market and Kings Lynn, on a picturesque national cycle route which passes through the village. Local amenities are close by include an outdoor gym, basketball court, children’s play area, fish 'n' chip shop and a village shop ideal for those all-important essentials. The convenient Watlington railway station boasts a journey time of just over an hour and a half from London. The local pub, The Angel, is positioned off the green and serves delicious home cooked meals as well as fabulous Sunday lunch.
Well worth a visit, the historic town of Kings Lynn is a short drive or train ride away. The famous port dates back to the 12th century and you can enjoy a lovely wander through the ancient cobbled streets. Walking tours around the town are also available, and you are well placed to benefit from the town’s many amenities, including high street shops, a cinema, supermarkets, and many cafes and restaurants including family run Mediterranean eatery Mem’s Kitchen, and gothic style burger hang out Liquor & Loaded. A visit to Ely and Norwich are both possible, to have a look around their magnificent cathedrals and try many of the local markets and eateries.
Watlington is approximately half an hour from HM the King's Sandringham Estate, which boasts huge parkland to explore, as well as an excellent children's adventure playground and cafe serving magnificently moated National Trust property of Oxburgh Estate has a fascinating, rich history and lovely tea room.
The stunning North Norfolk coast is reachable via a 35-minute car journey.
