Cosy and Comfy, a home from home, perfect location, responsive friendly host, great cottage right in the heart of Cowes!
These are just some of the reviews from happy guests about No. 28, my cosy two bedroomed fisherman's cottage, built in 1842, in the heart of Cowes.
The beach and Cowes Esplanade, Yacht Clubs and mariners again are a short stride away from No. 28, which has two double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a quirky bathroom under the stairs with a powerful shower over the full-size bath and a comfortable sitting room with fast wi-fi connection, flat screen TV with Freeview and Amazon Prime and Catch-Up channels. There are also board games, cards and books.
The private courtyard with the little wash house is a quirky outside area, ideal for sitting in the sunshine with your coffee and newspaper.
No. 28 is a stones throw away from the quirky High Street, full of independent shops including bakeries, butchers and fishmongers as well as fashion boutiques and maritime related shops. Marks & Spencers Food Hall and Sainsburys are also on the doorstep. There is a large selection of restaurants and pubs, with live music and entertainment.
A few mins walk from the Red Funnel passenger ferry and a short drive from the Floating Bridge, which links to East Cowes car ferry and the bus terminal.
Cross Street car park is directly opposite No. 28 and a tourist permit can be purchased on the PaybyPhone App, which also covers your vehicle for long-stay parking across the Island in IOW council operated carparks.
Having hosted for just over two years, I love getting No. 28 ready for my guests and hopefully getting to meet them during their stay. I am very responsive to messages and live locally so I can respond to queries promptly should they arise during your stay. I am proud to be a Superhost and have had great feedback from my guests about the house, the decor, facilities and location. I like to leave a welcome pack for my guests and this includes tea, coffee, sugar, fresh bread, butter and milk plus shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body wash in the bathroom.
There is so much to do in Cowes and it is a great location to access the main attractions on the Island. Cowes has fantastic restaurants and I recommend The Garden, Smoking Lobster, The Coast, the great curry houses, of which there are three!
Northwood House is on the doorstep and has great facilities and attractions, including free tennis and basket ball courts, beautiful grounds for a stroll and the many events including The Proms, Food Festivals and Comedy Nights.
Strolling by the Solent from Cowes to Gurnard is a pleasant walk and when you reach the Woodvale pub, settle down to watch the most beautiful sunsets and inbibe in great food and drinks! The nearby Red Squirrel Trail is perfect for walking, cycling, jogging and dog walking, following the old railway track around part of the Island.
