Our apartment is good for couples and solo travellers. Attached to our house, this is a small but very comfortable and modern space, with a fully equipped kitchenette and a private entrance and patio garden. Pets are also allowed by request (with a small additional charge). We are situated in a village within the Tamar Valley which is on the border between Devon and Cornwall - close to both moorlands and coast.
You have easy access to all areas of the Southwest, particularly the parks of Dartmoor and Bodmin, Plymouth and the town of Tavistock. It is a great area to explore or just to relax.
Married to Stu. Love travel, cooking (especially baking), wildlife and fab scenery. We are lucky to have all of this in the beautiful Tamar Valley.
Have been all over the world - Australia, New Zealand, Galapagos, Iceland, etc., but there are so many more places to visit - and not enough time!!
We are courteous guests and hosts. We are respectful of other peoples homes and the privacy they may want when they visit ours. We are quiet types but friendly - we think!
Life is too short - get out and enjoy it - especially in the South West!
Will to be happy to offer help on places to visit across Devon and Cornwall as well as great places to eat and drink.
Lower Metherell is a friendly little village with a 15th Century country pub less than 3 mins walk away from our home. Other pubs, a village shop and medieval church are nearby in Harrowbarrow and St Dominick.
Generally, a car is required to enjoy the wider area, (please note too that we have small lanes between villages and the main roads!) If you fancy leaving the car behind the Tamar Valley railway line is a scenic route between Plymouth and Gunnislake, (less then 3 miles from our home). There are also local buses operating between the various villages to Tavistock. The Tamar Valley is a great area for cycling and walking too with many miles of lanes and cycle routes.
Further afield, there is Dartmoor and Bodmin moor and the north and south Cornwall coastlines and beaches. There are fabulous gardens and National Trust properties, and a host of coastal and inland villages, small towns and the cities of Truro and Plymouth to explore. Being on the border between the two counties of Devon and Cornwall gives guests lots of opportunities for things to do and see.
