A very warm welcome to Rabbit Meadow and Fox Acre Lodges at Wern Farm. We are a family team, with the help of our lovely housekeeper, we are a small, modern working farm and we breed Pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle, that are grazed in the summer months on our 67 acres and housed during the winter months, we also make our own forage for our cattle. While we're not a petting farm, the animals are available to view.
Some of the animals we keep are:
Three ponies (Archie, Rosa & Ted);
Two cats (Poppy and Dave);
Two dogs (Harlie, our Great Dane and Ted, our working Collie);
We have a small flock of chickens with a few guinea fowl who freely roam around the farm, we occasionally keep tack sheep, this is mainly throughout the winter months.
We hope you have an enjoyable stay,
Sarah, Steve and our children Harvey & Izzy.
Our farm is in the village of Tredunnock, which is situated between the towns of Usk (4.3miles) and Caerleon (4.7miles).
Usk is a town and community in Monmouthshire which is located on the River Usk, which is spanned by an arched stone bridge at the Western entrance to the town. Usk Castle, above the town, overlooks the ancient crossing point. It developed as a small market town. In recent years Usk has become known for its history of success in Britain in Bloom competitions, winning the 'Wales in Bloom' competition for 35 times in a row between 1982 and 2016.
Caerleon is a town and community in Newport which is also situated on the river Usk. Caerleon is of archaeological importance, being the site of a notable Roman legionary fortress, Isca Augusta, and an Iron Age hillfort. Close to the remains of Isca Augusta are the National Roman Legion Museum and the Roman Baths Museum.
