Remuera is a delightful family-friendly home in the quiet village of North Tolsta, known for its wonderful beaches and rugged coastline. The house boasts splendid sea views across the Minch to the mountains of Sutherland on mainland Scotland. Recently refurbished to high standards, Remuera includes 2 double rooms and 2 twin rooms and can accommodate up to 8 people plus additional travel cot. The house has modern electric radiators throughout and the living room also has a cosy multi-fuel stove. There is also a private secluded wild garden, with surrounding trees and quiet corners in which to enjoy the birdsong. Children are very welcome at Remuera. Our aim is to provide the best possible family-friendly home for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful retreat in this beautiful part of the world.

My name is Anne Marie and I was born and raised in North Tolsta. I am now working as a Harris Tweed weaver in my Granny's home which is next door to Remuera. I am delighted to welcome you to my wonderful village! My family and I are always on hand to help our guests by sharing our knowledge of the local area. Whether you are looking for secret beaches, the best fishing lochs or a restaurant recommendation on the islands, we will do our best to make your North Tolsta experience as memorable as possible.

There are three renowned beaches within two miles of the property, including the magnificent Tràigh Mhòr ('Big Beach') with its 1.5 mile long stretch of golden sands. The village is a fantastic location for enjoying coastal walks, water sports and wild trout fishing. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, with common sightings of deer, sea eagles, whales, dolphins and more. North Tolsta is a convenient base for exploring all parts of Lewis and Harris including the historic sites of the Callanish Standing Stones, Carloway Broch and Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. The island's main town of Stornoway is approximately 13 miles away and has many facilities, including shops, cafes, restaurants, sports centre and golf course.
