The Shepard’s Hut is next to the house in the small crofting community of Badluarach. It has total privacy and open, uninterrupted views across the Loch to The Summer Isles, Scorraig peninsula and Ben Coigach.
The hut has a double bed accessed from one side, two chairs and a small dining table. There is a kitchenette with microwave oven, induction hob, fridge, toaster and kettle. A small shower and toilet are also within the hut. Bed linen, towels and hair dryer are provided. There is a TV with access to Sky, free WiFi and a radio. The hut is heated by an electric wall heater. We have a garage where bikes can be safely stored and wet clothes dried.
Badluarach is 2•5 miles off the main NC500 road and the hut is situated on a 4 acre croft which stretches to the shore of Little Lochbroom. It is halfway between Ullapool and Gairloch. Five minutes walk from the Croft is a jetty which allows easy access to Little Lochbroom for kayaking, fishing and, for the brave, wild swimming in the clear water. Seals often bask along the shore line. We are spoilt with access to the hills from An Tealloch’s demanding hike to beautiful low level easy walks and the very lovely Gruinard Bay is only 5 minutes away by car.
You need to be aware we are fairly isolated, the nearest shop being 13 miles away in Laide, so we would advise you make sure you have provisions with you.
