The space
In the grounds of a listed 17th century farm house Simpers Drift was converted from the old farm dairy to provide modern facilities in a property which retains all its old charm and character. With views extending to the countryside with rare-breed sheep beyond the garden the cottage is filled with light and the sunsets can be spectacular. Bird-feeders in the garden attract a wide variety of birds and you are likely to see buzzards, barn owl, and deer in the surrounding fields.

Living area: With 2 sofas, wood burner and 22" Free view TV.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Bathroom: With shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.
First Floor mezzanine bedroom with king size comfortable bed. Non-feather duvet and pillows with Egyptian cotton sheets and covers.
We encourage recycling and composting.
The owners enjoy being out in the open Suffolk coast and countryside. They enjoy canoeing, swimming, walking and have renovated their old Suffolk farmhouse. They are pleased to have installed a EV charger for electric car;. reasonable charge rates apply. The owners have 2 gentle dogs who will have a warm welcome for guests dogs . We have a relaxed attitude and will expect you to have your own space and time whilst staying with them but will be on hand if needed for any advice or help you may need.
We are living in our own farmhouse on site but believe in giving people privacy but are on hand to help with anything. We know the area very well and can give ideas for days out if needed
Simpers Drift is in the village of Great Glemham which is quiet and idyllic only 2 miles from the A12 . The village pub provides good food and a good welcome to dogs and humans! Many pretty walks from the door; watch out for deer, hares, hunting birds and the renowned suffolk skies.
We are near Snape Maltings, famous as Benjamin Britten’s concert hall and only 6 miles from the seaside town of Aldeburgh. The small market town of Framlingham, with its large castle is 5 miles away. Also nearby and well worth a visit is the RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere and approximately 35 minutes away is the attractive coastal town of Southwold and the village of Walberswick. Beach 9 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile. The Museum and archives of Parham Airfield where the American Airforce 390th Bomb group were based is a 10 minute walk away. (open April to October but can be opened at other times for special group visits). Sutton Hoo (subject of film The Dig) is 11 miles.
Suffolk is well served with good places to eat and drink to cater for most tastes from fish and chips to fine dining.
London rail links are just 10 mins away
Harwich ferries to Holland are an hour by car
Stansted airport is an 1 hour and 20 mins car drive
Cambridge is 1 hour and 30 mins by car
Bury st Edmunds 1 hour by car
Ipswich 35 mins by car
