Welcome to Skye Lair, the healing antidote to an overly busy, always on, stressful world. Step away into a place of retreat and sanctuary, where you can do as much or as little as you need to feel recovered, revived and reconnected.
Expertly designed by award winning local architects R House, Skye Lair is a five star, self catering home for FOUR with a minimal yet cosy ambience. Clad in local larch wood and elegantly appointed, Skye Lair includes everything you need to cocoon yourself in Scottish Scandi luxury.
Set amidst stunning scenery on the Sleat Peninsula (known as the ‘Garden of Skye’), panoramic windows make the most of mesmerising, ever changing mountain and ocean views, compelling in any season.
Explore the ancient history, physical wonders and culinary delights of this legendary island from Skye Lair’s ideal location or simply curl up in front of the wood burning stove with a local treat from your welcome treat and watch the flames dance - the perfect definition of ‘hygge’ (or as we say in Scotland, ‘coorie in’!).
I fell in love with Skye Lair when I stayed as a guest, so it is a great pleasure to be able to offer visitors a similarly wonderful experience now I am the owner. I am from the Highlands myself and look forward to providing you with the hospitality for which we are famous, in a beautiful home which features the very best of "Scottish Scandi" luxury and comfort.
Skye Lair is just 20 minutes drive from the Skye Bridge and 15 minutes from Broadford's shops and restaurants. It is 5 minutes from the ferry terminal at Armadale, which connects to the port of Mallaig and the whole of south west Scotland - a fast and gloriously scenic connection from Glasgow and the Central Belt! It is around 2 ½ hours drive from Inverness and the Airport. Public transport is also easy and accessible. Skye Lair provides easy access to all the famous attractions on Skye, yet is a peaceful and beautiful retreat at the end of a busy day's sightseeing. Armadale Castle and Gardens are minutes away, as is the cultural hub of Sabhal Mor Ostaig, the seat of Gaelic learning. Walk along the coastline or up the hill and gaze across to the wilds of Knoydart. If walking the hills and challenging yourself on mountains are your thing, the Cuillins are just 40 minutes away. Sleat is an ideal area for cycling - the roads are wide, open and of good quality.
