Located in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the popular village of Grasmere, this cosy cottage is just a stone's throw from a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, including the famous Grasmere gingerbread shop which sells a range of speciality gingerbread men made using a secret recipe. You can also visit the two homes of Grasmere's most famous resident, William Wordsworth, with both Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount both open to the public.
Wordsworth once described Grasmere as “the loveliest spot man hath ever found” and when you view the surrounding landscape with its dramatic hills and luscious deep valleys, it's not hard to see why. Grasmere is the perfect spot to explore the northern lakes, being just a short walk from Grasmere Lake and Rydal Water. If you’re feeling more energetic you could take a walk up Silver Howe, which rewards its climbers with stunning views across Cumbria and the northern lake district.
