Kyle of Tongue Cottages is a family business run by us, Barry and Emily Allsop. We manage a small number of unique self-catering properties in the Kyle of Tongue area (on the far north coast of Scotland on the route of the NC500). We work really hard to ensure that all our guests have as great a stay as possible and are always delighted when guests leave a lovely review about the services we have provided. When we are not looking after our Kyle of Tongue Cottages guests, we run a small croft (smallholding) with rare breed sheep, pigs and hens . We also sell eggs, pork and lamb and wool. After booking you will be sent details of all local restaurants and attractions and also asked if you would like to pre-order any of our croft reared produce. An amazing 3 bedroom family house with stunning views over the Kyle of Tongue and Ben Loyal which is perfect for a short break or longer holiday. It has a large well equipped kitchen / diner, with electric oven/hob as well as two large double rooms and a twin room with two single beds. The sitting room has comfy armchairs, a sofa and a woodburner. A great location as a base to explore by car, motorbike, bicycle or foot.

There is a book of local walks in the property along with an OS map. Easy access to forest, cliff top and beach walks. Walking distance to Talmine Post Office / convenience shop and The Craggan hotel (bar / restaurant) and Talmine and Skinnet beaches. Approx 5 miles to the village of Tongue and its shops / post office / fuel / hotels (bar / restaurants). Day trips to Orkney, John o' groats as well Durness are possible. Approx 1.5 miles to the NC500 route. This is a great location for walking and cycling but is harder (but not impossible!) to access without a car of some kind having few scheduled buses.
