Relax with family or friends at this charming country cottage. Recently renovated, The Lodge is a detached 2 bed cottage of c. 1,200 sq ft, set within its own garden along with a private drive - a comfortable retreat in the Surrey Hills, surrounded by open countryside, walking trails and cycle ways. We've tried to provide everything you'll need to ensure the cottage provides a true escape while feeling like a home from home. The Space Upstairs is an en-suite double bedroom (king bed), the 2nd bedroom (2 singles or 1 super-king) and the family bathroom. Downstairs you'll find the open plan kitchen dining room, a WC, reading space next to a set of sliding doors and a lounge with its own sliding doors that lead out onto the outdoor decking area, with a dining set and charcoal BBQ. Guest Access Guests are welcome to use the garden immediately around The Lodge, as well as the detached garage for storage (e.g. bikes). The outdoor tennis court can be used by arrangement. We'd ask you not to use the rest of the gardens as we keep this for our family only.

We love hosting guests in our Lodge from near and far - having traveled a lot ourselves all over the world and benefited from some amazing hosts, we want to return the generosity and kindness we've had with our guests. Ewhurst is a peaceful and friendly village just below the Surrey Hills escarpment, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Lodge is within the 1 1/2 acres of the main house, but still very private. Situated on the edge of the village, it benefits from easy access to local amenities (inc. local shop, park, playground and The Bulls Head pub - opening soon after full renovation!) while only a stone's throw from open fields and countryside. It's a beautiful place to relax or enjoy stunning walks, great mountain or road biking and to explore the Surrey and Sussex countryside. The area also includes many film and TV show locations....'The Holiday', 'Bridget Jones', 'The Wedding', 'Beauty & The Beast', 'Jurassic Park', 'Star Wars - Obi Wan' and 'The Citadel', to name a few! Getting Around Cranleigh is a quick bus ride or drive away with many local shops, pubs and eateries, and plenty of picturesque Surrey Hills villages within a short drive, along with other areas of interest, including Leith Hill, Newlands Corner, Box Hill, Leonardslee Gardens, Winkworth Arboretum, Albury Vineyard & Silent Pools distillery. The village is roughly equidistant between Guildford (25mins) & Horsham (20mins). Gatwick Airport (c. 35mins) and Heathrow Airport (c. 50mins) are close by with easy access to main roads to the south coast, the A3 or the M25. The closest station (Ockley) is 15 minutes, with mainline hubs at Horsham, Dorking or Guildford not much further.
