The village of Bourton-on-the-Hill is known for its sweeping countryside views over the Evenlode Valley and charming Cotswold stone cottages. The village is home to the Norman Church of Saint Lawrence and the renowned Bourton House Gardens, with its 16th century Tithe Barn. The village filling station has a well-stocked Budgens store and the Horse and Groom Inn serves local ales and traditional food. Within walking distance are Batsford Arboretum and Sezincote House & Garden.
The Barn at High Gables is located in the heart of the North Cotswolds. Just a short drive away are the ancient market towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford, offering bustling independent shops, art galleries, antique dealers, museums, restaurants, inns and cafes. Why not stroll down the beautiful High Streets of Broadway and Chipping Campden, visit Blockley, the TV location for BBC’s “Father Brown”, or walk between Upper and Lower Slaughter, before enjoying Sunday lunch.
