The Barn at Rigg End is perfect for guests looking for a wonderful rural break in a characterful barn conversion in a countryside setting within the North York Moors National Park. With the market town of Pickering not too far away, pretty villages, cosy pubs close by and the coast within driving distance.
The Barn offers the perfect escape for anyone who wishes to relax in an idyllic location or those who are active and love adventuring out. We have three bedrooms and three bathrooms in an upside down cottage with an open plan kitchen, dining & living room leading out onto the popular decking area for al fresco dining and great views out to the Moors.
We are so lucky have had many wonderful guests visit The Old Barn at Rigg End and look forward to welcoming new guests to the area. We love hiking in the moors, visiting the local pubs and exploring the beautiful countryside we have on our doorstep. It is a pleasure to share all the best places to visit locally and further afield.
There are lots of great things to do in the North Yorkshire Moors. Our guest enjoy hiking in the moors from our doorstep. There is an enjoyable walk to the 'The Blacksmiths Arms' at Lastingham, only 4 miles away. There are many other lovely local pubs, restaurants, two Michelin Star restaurants at Harome, cafe's and tea rooms.
Explore the lovely local villages and market towns of Hutton-le-Hole, Goathland, Appleton-le-Moor and Hemlsley, many superb historical sights and moorland views.
Guests love the North York Moors Steam Railway, Go Ape at Dalby Forest, watersports at Wykeham Lakes and golf at Kirbymoorside as well as walking, biking and touring the sites.
The Barn is situated between all four of the main Yorkshire towns, it is easy to access the services and facilities the town has to offer. If you're heading to Whitby be sure to visit the independently owned craft and jewellery shops or if you visit Scarborough make sure you explore the picturesque fishing harbour.
