The Barracks is a stunning, Grade-2 listed home built in 1633, aptly named as it was used to garrison soldiers during the English Civil War. The current owner, only the second in the home’s 400-year history, has transformed the house into a fabulous three-bedroom holiday home, perfectly combining contemporary artwork and facilities, including two modern bathrooms and a superb kitchen, with the original inglenooks, exposed timbers, window seats and wonderful staircase. Outside there is a beautiful garden, divided into three parts, giving guests space to dine, contemplate, play and relax. The village is located midway between the picturesque towns of Burford and Bibury, and the Sherborne Arms, a local family-owned village pub, is a short walk from the house.

The Barracks is on the edge of the village of Aldsworth with fine views of the church and surrounding countryside. The village is ideally located to explore the Cotswold towns of Burford, Northleach and Cirencester, and the beautiful villages of Bibury and Coln St Aldwyns - both in walking distance. The Sherborne Arms (circa 1799) is a family-owned pub and is within a short walk of the Barracks. The village also has a village hall with a basketball court. It can be rented for private parties, accommodating up to 100 people. The village cricket club plays their fixtures in the field next to the hall. St. Bartholomew’s church, which can be seen from the Barracks’ garden, dates to late Norman times. It has a 15th century spire - an unusual feature for a Cotswold church - which can be seen for miles around. The popular Cripps Stone Barn wedding venue is just under two miles away.
