Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable, newly architect designed 1840s Paper Mill Boiler House, set within the rolling hillsides of the Calder Valley. A grand design on a smaller scale with an excellent use of space. With breath-taking views from the fully glazed frontage overlooking the woodland and river. The property is located on the longest continuous elevation road in England and is famous for road cycling, having been part of the Tour de France route back in 2014.
The space has been stylishly decorated and provides comfort, warmth and space for all.
Finished to a high standard, the property boasts a hand crafted kitchen that leads into our stunning open plan dining and living area. Enjoy a movie on the huge 65" TV with subscriptions to Netflix, BBC iplayer and Amazon Prime. Our property is fitted with underfloor heating so no chilly feet! Our favourite part has to be the fabulous floor to ceiling windows bringing the outside in. Sit back and take in the stunning woodland and wildlife. Our property isn't large, but it's been well designed to make the most of the space, we even managed to squeeze an upstairs bathroom in!
The property has 2 main bedrooms and will comfortably seat and sleep 4 guests, however if additional sleeping space is needed the sofa bed located in the lower section of house will sleep 2 extra guests. There is also a Tv and board games in this room. The lower floor is accessed via paddle steps, so those with limited mobility, or young children will struggle.
We have a beautiful marble bathroom with a Japanese duo deep bath - so you can indulge and relax until your heart's content! It may not be easy to get in if limited mobility.
There are 2 outdoor patio areas, one leading off the main lounge, and one off the main bedroom.
You may not recognise our property from the entrance as you will just see a single storey building. It’s only when you enter through the large oak door that you will be wow-ed by what lies within.
Hi, my name is Kelly and I live in the wonderful town of Hebden bridge. My husband and I would like to introduce our holiday let to you, we converted the old boiler house then extended it into the unique property it is today. Blood sweat and tears went into it but we are thrilled with our finished house and we’re sure you will love it too.
I’ll be available during your stay should you need to ask about anything.
Walks - too many to mention but I’ve added some to my guide. Start with walks from our doorstep along Cragg Brook!
A visit to Craggies just a 5 minute drive up the road is a must! It’s a farm shop and cafe with the most delicious food. A great place to stock up on weekend locally farmed produce and goodies.
Dog friendly pubs - 2 pubs within walking distance. The Robin Hood just 2 minutes walk down the hill, or The Hinchcliffe down Castlegate, through a field and you’ll see the fabulous building which awaits your visit.
Nearest town - Mytholmroyd has many more pubs, restaurants, shops, chemist, supermarket.
A visit to Hebden bridge just 10 mins by car is highly recommended.
There’s a bus stop just a few steps away from the property which will take you to nearby towns. Mytholmroyd has a train station should you wish to make a trip to Halifax (15 mins) Leeds or Manchester (40 mins), or further afield of course. Otherwise, if you plan to take your car, parking is of course available but Hebden bridge is a tourist hotspot and can get very busy so it may take you a little longer to get parked.
